Quarter Century Bday!
For those that weren't able to attend my bday celebrations below is a little excerpt of the weekend activities.
I wanted to do something crazy for my 25th I wasn't sure what but a few things came to mind like... waiting at the airport for a random flight on standby, and go to Disney World for the weekend but sadly the few close friends I asked thought I was out of my mind... =) So Disney world was a no go and Steve pointed out: "How would you get your return flight organized?" so instead I had two get togethers and a family lunch.
Friday about 9 of the expected 10 met up at Canyon Creek downtown and had us a nice fancy dinner in our own private room it was quite cozy. Today was Edgar's actual birthday so we had a dual celebration. After that some had to depart while others came to join us for the latter half of the nights activities. We ended up going to Fez Batik for some drinks but the scene was weak so we left for Tonic. There was a really really big line but James just knows everyone and got us a line bypass!! The club was different than what I remember, the crowd was mostly non-asian and dj pumped the dance/house beats. What stood this place above the rest was how later in the evening as the house music was bumpin, fog horns and whistles could be heard and finally blasts of confetti were shot into the crowd. The funny part was how after the confetti was finished they started throwing napkins in the air... haha it was like new years, minus the napkin throwing~!
Saturday was all about the relaxing and celebrating in a more adult environment. The party started at 6pm but most arrived at maybe 7:30-8:00pm which was okay as the early birds helped me prepare the food. Most of the guests were good friends from the early university years and my Dragonboat family. After eating we started playing boardgames, Cranium I must say was ridiculously fun! DanHO and I formed TEAM D squared yet again and had a big lead only to lose it later in the game... (Its a FRICKEN TREE HUGGER!!!! haha) We had so many laughs and tough competition between the 4 teams that played until 2-3am. It was good ole family fun! I hope we have many more of these nights.
Sunday I had a nice lunch with my family at Mandarin and got ready to head back to Waterloo. It was a fun filled weekend!! Thanks to all that came esp with the short notice and to those that wished me well.
I'm 25 - lots more life to be living. peace!
